It is simply how evolution works when it comes to skin: as we age, our skin naturally begins to lose elasticity and produces less collagen which creates wrinkles and saggy skin. One way to combat sagging skin, especially around the eyes, neck area, stomach, and breasts? The revolutionizing Plasma Pen.
The Plasma Pen is a highly effective skin tightening procedure in which an amazing device delivers skin tightening and skin resurfacing with light downtime. This industry-leading device, made in Germany and FDA approved, has gotten a lot of press, even making it onto the CBS show “The Doctors” for its before-and-after capabilities.
The Plasma Pen is optimal for those wanting to tighten loose skin, and it can be done almost anywhere on the face and body. The Plasma Pen lifts, tightens, and rejuvenates the skin that is treated, combating signs of aging such as wrinkles, fine lines, collagen loss, and saggy skin. In this way, the Plasma Pen actually stimulates collagen production to happen within the skin.
Our technicians at Erasing Time are highly trained in best practices and safe protocol when it comes to using the Plasma Pen. This beauty enhancement procedure is highly effective and should be done only by a licensed professional in a clean and well-maintained environment.

Good question! We always do a consultation first with any client to make sure that the Plasma Pen is right for them and their beauty and skin goals. At Erasing Time, we create fully customized treatment plans that will accomplish what the client specifically wants to change and improve. The Plasma Pen, used by a trained professional, is a great non-surgical, non-invasive option for highly effective skin tightening and skin rejuvenation.
This technology may not the best option for those with darker skin tones or those that scar easily. We will consult you and let you know if you are a good candidate for the Plasma Pen, or whether one of our many other beauty treatments would be better for you, specifically. Just because this isn’t a great fit for you doesn’t mean we don’t have a large range of other spectacular beauty treatments for you.
The Plasma Pen targets fibroblasts. Fibroblasts are the connective tissue that are responsible for creating the structural proteins which keep the skin looking taut and youthful. How else are fibroblasts so important? Because they are the collagen producing cells which are stimulated by the plasma waves via the Plasma Pen. Not only is collagen revived, but fibronectin and hyaluronic acid are also stimulated and get a nice wake up call to get up and get going like a motivated aerobics class instructor.
The Plasma Pen will deliver oxygen and nitrogen plasma, creating a safe and powerful thermal reaction that will in turn stimulate collagen production. The plasma waves target the area where they are pointed and work on the skin laxity, fine lines, and wrinkles. As the plasma wave touches the skin, it will create micro-injuries which appear as tiny brown crusts that will fall off within seven to ten days.
Sessions can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the surface area of skin being treated. We do a double layer numbing technique that ensures the least discomfort possible. Obviously, the smaller the area, the shorter the time.
Well, the healing stage does look a bit interesting. It actually looks like a lot of very tiny little dots on the skin that tend to be a dark red color. The skin is carefully and strategically damaged via “micro injuries,” creating itty-bitty little scabs that heal and cause skin regeneration that is beautifully rejuvenated. You may also experience a bit of temporary swelling in the treated area. After several days the scabs will begin to fall off and reveal glowing and tightened new skin that will soon glow and be much tighter.
We recommend allowing yourself about a week of “social downtime” simply to enable your skin to heal without putting any extra lotions or makeup on the area. You want to care for that area with gentle activity that allows the new skin cells to develop easily. Avoid direct sun exposure for two weeks following the treatment, and as always, wear sun protection and sunscreen. This goes for almost any skin-rejuvenation treatment. After your treatment with us, we will guide you as to everything you need to do day-by-day directly following your session
It all depends on your skin and where it is in the aging process, as well as your skin goals. Each person is different. You may need 2, but you may also require 8 to get your desired results; again, all depending on where your skin is in the aging process and how much outside factors (i.e. sun exposure, smoking, scarring, etc.). During your consultation we will go over how many treatments we expect you to need according to your skin condition and end goal.
