Chemical Peel

What is a VI Peel?

An VI Peel, better known as a chemical peel is a procedure used to help remove the outmost layers of your skin. A professional grade VI Peel can give you that red carpet glow while also dramatically changing and improving the appearance and texture of your skin. A VI Peel is a type of chemical peel that helps reverse the effects of aging and reduce fine lines, wrinkles, creases, folds, and every day wear and tear on skin. VI Peels reveal beautiful new layers of skin that glow and show a refreshed visage.

VI Peels provide skin improvements on a cellular level. Chemical peels break down the top layers of your skin cells, letting the fresh and rejuvenated skin shine through. They truly showcase the skin you were meant to have, and restore your skin’s youthful appearance.

Our VI Peels are composed of four distinctive compounds stoat have been specifically designed for safe and effective treatment of each skin type, tone, and texture.

Can VI Peels Reduce “Chicken Skin”?

Most people I’ve heard of getting goosebumps, also called chicken skin. But there is another skin condition which people also referred to as chicken skin, which is actually just bumps caused by keratosis pilaris. Keratosis pilaris is actually an incredibly common skin condition in which hair follicles get clogged by dead skin cells. This, in effect, produces bumps on top of the skin that mimic the look of chicken skin. It is often found on knees, elbows, the backs of upper arms, the backs of thighs, and the buttocks.

Salicylic acid, one of the active ingredients in a VI Peel, can help break down these bumps (caused by keratosis pilaris) on the skin. The VI Peel will also smooth the overall skin texture and improve its softness, which also reduces the effects of keratosis pilaris.

How Do VI Peels Treat Acne?

VI Peels are incredibly successful in treating acne. They are generally very well tolerated by acne prone skin and are gentle yet powerful for those suffering from acne and the effects of long-term acne prone skin. How exactly do they help reduce acne and rid clients of pesky acne issues?
  • By killing bacteria on the skin
  • Through breaking down the outer layer of skin which holdsonto dead skin cells and bacteria
  • Via reducing oil production
  • By reducing inflammation of the skin and active breakouts
On a sidenote, salicylic acid which is one of the key ingredients in VI Peels happens to be one of the best treatments for eliminating acne scarring.

What Happens During the VI Perl Procedure?

At Erasing Time, we begin our VI Peels by thoroughly cleansing the client’s face, removing any make up, lotions, and impurities. We then carefully spread the specially formulated solution in two layers over the area that will be treated. The solution will gently begin the process of gently exfoliating the dead and damaged skin cells while simultaneously stimulating collage growth and production.
After the solution is finished processing the skin’s surface we then proceed to wash off the solution completely and gently. You never want someone being rough on your skin, especially when performing a chemical peel! After the solution is washed off, we give our clients a cool cup of water to begin their post-procedure hydration which we encourage after every single beauty service.
We then send our clients off to continue on with their daily activities, reminding them to continue their daily skin care regimes, and to remember to always wear sun protection that is right for their skin tone and texture.
Depending on your skin tone and type in your skin sensitivity, you may experience some redness for a day or so. This does not happen to everyone, so each individual‘s experience will vary. Your skin should continue to peel and flake a bit for the following week, revealing fresh, taut and glowing skin!

What Is The Recovery Process of A VI Peel?

Depending on your skin tone and type in your skin sensitivity, you may experience some redness for a day or so. This does not happen to everyone, so each individual‘s experience will vary. Your skin should continue to peel and flake a bit for the following week, revealing fresh, taut and glowing skin!
It is very important to keep your skin moisturized and you stay hydrated, especially during the process of your skin rejuvenating and healing to a new level of beauty. We often suggest abstaining from vigorous activity for the first week, as your skin is going through a wonderful and amazing phase of healing and process of improvement. That doesn’t mean abstaining from all exercise, it simply means, maybe save your marathon running and super-cardio classes for a week after your incredible VI Peel.
If you love your VI Peel, you can repeat it as often as every 3 to 4 months.

Call today to book your appointment and see your remarkable changes that await your skin. We are happy to discuss your individual beauty goals, benefits, risks, and end results.

If you are pregnant, using estrogen, or exposing your skin to long time periods in the sun, please be sure and mention that to us, as we will guide you towards certain precautions. Oh we generally steer pregnant women away from chemical peels simply because they have an increased risk of developing dark spots, and also, you always want to be careful around absolutely any and all chemicals while you’re pregnant. Safety first, and baby first!
